What is the Right Hairstyle Design for Your Face Shape
Face shape is one of the major considerations in choosing the best haircut for you. It is because hairstyle is all about shape and geometry. All can be a disaster when a particular hairstyle is created for the wrong face. Best hair designing is putting the perfect frame around the individuals face to bring balance and perspective to the overall shape. The shape should de-emphasize the prominent attributes and promote and compliment the best features.
The shape of the face is the starting point of choosing the hairstyle. The hair texture and color will follow after the face shape analysis is achieved. It is usually the duty of the hairstylist to know what shape is best for you. However, it will also be a lot of help to personally understand face shape suitability as well as what will or wont suit you. It is always better to communicate with your stylist and somehow keep them honest.
The general rule in face shape is to achieve the oval face which is the most perfect and pleasing shape to the human eye. Long faces need shortening just as wide faces need lengthening. Here are the pros and cons of particular face shapes:
Choosing the right hair style to fit your face shape
Oval Face Shape: only slightly narrower at the jaw line than at the temples, with a gently rounded hairline.
Pros: variety of hairstyles i.e. short, medium and long hair designs.
Cons: heavy bangs, or too forward-directed styles.
Round Face Shape: full-looking face with a round chin and hairline. Widest point is at the cheeks and ears.
Pros: hair styles with fullness and height at the crown; short hair styles longer than chin length, layering the top, cut relatively close to the face.
Cons: chin length hair, styles with short-short crops, or straight "chopped" bangs; a rounded haircut ending at the chin, center parts, fullness at side of ears.
Square Face Shape: a strong, square jaw line and usually an equally square hairline.
Pros: short-to-medium length hair, wispy bangs, off-center parts with height at the crown, layers, Height at the crown, curl or wave to the hair.
Cons: long straight styles, "linear" straight bangs or center parts; a straight bob ending at the jaw line.
Heart Face Shape: face is wide at the temples and hairline, narrowing to a small delicate chin.
Pros: chin-length or longer styles, side-parted hair styles or swept-forward layers around the upper face, with gently wispy bangs, shorter styles with weight in the back nape area.
Cons: short, full styles, too much height at the crown, slicked back looks.
Triangular Face Shape: reverse of the heart-shape; a dominant jaw line with narrowing at the cheek bone and temples.
Pros: shorter hair, off center parts, wedges and shags look, full at the temples and taper at the jaw line, tucking hair behind your ears.
Cons: long, full hair styles, too much height at the crown.
Diamond Face Shape: a cross between heart and a dramatic oval; widest at the cheekbones, and narrow equally at the forehead and jaw line.
Pros: variety of styles, shorter styles, weight in the back nape area.
Cons: too much hair on your face.
Rectangular or Oblong Face Shape: long and slender, about the same width at forehead and just below cheekbones; may have a very narrow chin or a very high forehead.
Pros: short to medium lengths, fullness at the sides of your face and wispy bangs, layers, side parts, center parts
Cons: too much hair length and weight

Best haircut for tall chubby teen guy?
I’m about 5’11″ and 205 pounds (pretty muscular). I don’t have a double chin or anything, but my face has always been pretty chubby. I have hair to my eyebrows right now, so in looking to get it cut. What do you think would be slimming?

Adding height and not width to your face would be best.
Having a fringe cuts your face in half and usually makes it look chubbier (though it looks okay on SOME people…) brush your hair back and see if you look better without it, even if you’re not used to the idea. It usually looks awesome imo… more people should show their foreheads.
Have the sides trimmed shorter but keep more length at the top, so it adds a bit more height. You could use some wax to help style it up in a bed-head style.

what’s the best (super cool, and sexy) haircut for a round, fully face with a “double chin”… (so ugly!)
something chic. pretty. and volumous… my hair is so limp.

having a full round face makes finding a great haircut tough. If you are heavy all over– ‘apple shaped’, then a short haircut can make you look as though you are tappering off at the top like a pyramid. Long hair can make you look even heavier tho. I personally think a ‘swing’ cut (short and bobbed a bit, but shorter in the back than on the sides) looks great on almost any face shape.
